About

“Viengping Children’s Home is a governmental organization undertaken by the Department of Children and Youth, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. It was established in 1986. Viengping Children’s Home cares for all disadvantaged children from birth-6 years old (boys and girls) and girls who are 6-18 years old, mostly coming from the 17 provinces of northern Thailand.

Baan Viengping focuses on taking care of children in order to help them grow up with a good quality. Various kinds of activities have been provided for all children to broaden their mind so that they are able to learn new things and gain new experience through those activities such as children’s day, Mother’s Day as well as Songkran Festival, etc. (Bio taken from their website below)

 How GSN comes alongside them

  • We provide English class, so that the children will be able to be more fluent and more confident when they speak.

  • We provide special teaching, instruction and practice to help children do well in special events. (e.g. Scrabble Tournament-winner gets a scholarship that goes towards education).

  • We provide the GSN Scholarship to help selected children, in dire need, monetarily with their education.

  • We provide special events each year.

 Future Plans

  • Create an internship program for the older children who are thinking about their future profession.

  • Take the children on field trips, where they are able to practice the things they learn in both English and Life Skills class in a controlled setting and in a real-life situation.

  • Come along side them on projects within their community.
